Janet Mullings

Biography:

Dr. Janet Mullings joined the faculty of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Sam Houston State University as an assistant professor in 1999. She received a B.S. in Criminology & Corrections, a M.A. in Criminal Justice & Criminology, and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from SHSU. Her research topics include focusing on issues in corrections, women in prison, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and child abuse and neglect. Her recent research has appeared in Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma, American Journal of Criminal Justice, Deviant Behavior, Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, & The Prison Journal. She served on the board of directors for the Montgomery County Women's Center for Victims of Family Violence and Sexual Assault from 1995 to 2005. She specializes in teaching courses on Victimology, Family Violence, and Violence Against Women.
